Coffee-scented candles

Coffee-scented candles

Coffee grounds release a subtle roasted aroma as the candle burns and look great as a layer in the glass. Perfect for wax scraps that would otherwise be thrown away.

What you need

  • Wax leftovers or soy wax
  • Wick with holder
  • 2 tbsp dry coffee grounds
  • Heat-resistant glass
  • Pot for a water bath

Step by step

  1. 1

    Melt the wax

    Melt the wax scraps in a water bath over low heat.

    Stir in the grounds

    Stir the dry grounds into the liquid wax until evenly spread.

    Fix the wick

    Centre the wick in the glass and hold it upright with two skewers.

  4. 4

    Pour and set

    Pour in the wax and let the candle harden for at least four hours.

Good to know

  • Trim the wick to 1 cm before first lighting.
  • Never leave coffee-ground candles burning unattended.
