Autumn scented candles with coffee and cinnamon

As the days get shorter, homemade candles set the mood. Coffee grounds give a rustic look and a subtle scent, while cinnamon and orange turn it into a true autumn fragrance.
What you need
- 200 g soy or rapeseed wax
- 2 tbsp dry coffee grounds
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
- Dried orange peel (optional)
- Candle wick with holder
- Jar or cup as a container
Step by step
- 1
Fix the wick
Stick the wick holder to the centre of the container and clip the wick upright at the top.
- 2
Melt the wax
Melt the wax in a water bath on low heat until fully liquid.
- 3
Stir in the scent
Stir in the grounds and cinnamon. Let the wax cool slightly so the grounds don't sink straight away.
- 4
Pour and decorate
Pour into the container, add orange peel or a cinnamon stick at the edge and let it set for 24 hours.
Good to know
- Trim the wick to about 5 mm before the first burn.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
